Tips to Green your home life

Saving energy

I thought this looked like a good site to share novel ideas for saving energy.

While it may sound old fashioned I hang my clothes on a line out on my porch. First, I put them in the dryer with a fabric softener for about 10 minues. Hang shirts on a hanger, then pin flat items to the line. They come out soft and wrinkle free that way plus smelling fresh. I only know two other people on Tybee who hang their laundry out so you're all missing out a a huge cost savings.  My energy bill is now below $100.00 per month. It no doubt will go up for the winter months. I read an article about an industrial application for converting air heat pumps to geo-thermal. Has anyone heard about residential applications? With the tax credits 09 would be a good time to convert if possible.
