Since 2009 the city of Savannah has provided curbside recycling for most of its residents but the need for commercial recycling is steadily growing. Footprint Savannah recognizes this need and has developed a friendly and affordable service to collect a variety of materials from Restaurants & Bars, Hotels & Hospitality, Offices, receptions & special events, and golf courses.
Footprint Savannah, LLC was formed in 2011 by Andrew Phillip Payne, Ginny Payne, and Dan Brown, all residents of Savannah, Georgia. Footprint Savannah is a small business Single-Stream recycling service committed the local areas of downtown, midtown and southside Savannah, the Islands, Pooler, Garden City and Richmond Hill.
What is single-stream recycling?
Single-stream recycling is a process in which recyclable materials are collected in recycling bins, with no sorting required.
What happens to the recyclable materials once they are collected?
Once the recyclables are collected by Footprint Savannah they are taken to a local facility which uses a system of sorting mechanisms to sort the recyclables into different categories. Once sorted, they are sold to different markets and manufactured into recycled products.
