The Georgia Conservancy cordially invites you to our 2010 Oyster Roast on Saturday, March 6th from 12:30 - 4:30 pm at Ft. McAllister State Park, Richmond Hill. Register online at www.georgiaconservancy.org.
Please join us, our coastal members and friends for a celebration of our state parks. This family-friendly event will feature nature walks, historic tours, live entertainment, barbecue lunch, wine and SweetWater beer, and fresh local oysters. This event is rain or shine. Please register by February 27th.
Member rate: $25 per person
Non-member rate: $35 per person includes a discounted membership
Children under 12: Free, donations appreciated.

Events for the day at the Oyster Roast
10:00 am Morning Tour of Fort McAllister
Come out early to tour the fort at Ft. McAllister State Park. Fort McAllister was a Confederate earthwork fortification near the mouth of the Ogeechee River in Bryan County. It played an important role in the defense of Savannah during the Civil War time Union naval blockade of the Georgia coast. Tours are free for Oyster Roast attendees. Interested parties will gather at the main office at 9:50 pm.
2:30 pm Guided Nature Tour
3:15 pm Guided Nature Tour
4:00 pm Guided Nature Tour
Take a break from the festivities of the Oyster Roast to enjoy the natural wonders of Ft. McAllister State Park. Located on the bank of the Great Ogeechee River south of Savannah, this park nestled among giant live oaks and beautiful salt marsh. Each of the three tours are guided and free for Oyster Roast attendees.
4:30 pm Afternoon Tour of Fort McAllister
Not ready to leave just yet? You don't have to! Fort McAllister was a Confederate earthwork fortification near the mouth of the Ogeechee River in Bryan County. It played an important role in the defense of Savannah during the Civil War time Union naval blockade of the Georgia coast.
